Know Yourself

Thinking of changing your career and taking up a role in the voluntary sector? Before looking at the career options open to you we recommend that you start with an assessment of the interests and qualities that you have as well as your skills and experiences.

My Interests

You interests are usually centred around things that you enjoy or find really exciting and fulfilling. They are important because they complement your skills and experience and help you remain motivated to work to a high standard or 'go the extra mile'.

In considering the voluntary sector as a new career option, this may be the first time that you have had an opportunity to bring together your interests with the skills and experience that you have acquired. Consciously looking to find the best fit between the jobs that your skills make you suitable for and the job that really matches your interests will help ensure that your time in this sector will be productive and highly rewarding.
