Skills Matching Profile
Using this tool you will be able to match your skills and experience with different career and job options in the voluntary sector. Whilst skill requirements vary from organisation to organisation, the results will give you a clearer idea of what career options are available to you. You can also match the results with your top three interests (.pdf file, 44Kb).
Using the Tool
Completing this tool takes about 10 minutes.
You will be asked to rate yourself in different skills areas. You do this by giving yourself a 'star rating':

The stronger you believe that you are in a particular area the more stars you give yourself. You do this by clicking on the star representing your rating. To get an accurate result, we recommend that you are honest about your areas of strength and weakness.
To find out our definition of each skill, hover your cursor over the skill name in the survey and a definition will appear.
Finally you will be asked to indicate if you have any of the qualifications listed in Section Five. Using your cursor, tick the qualifications that you have.
It is that simple and within seconds you will have a result giving you guidance on career options that may suit you.
Live Job Vacancies
Want to find out what is available on the job market right now? The results will also give you some links to live job vacancy information via the NCVO Jobshop.
These are just a sample of the jobs that are available and should not stop you investigating other voluntary sector recruiters. The live results will also give you a good indication of the salaries being offered and outline job descriptions.
You should note that a high percentage of permanent jobs are located in London and the South East of the country and this will be reflected in the live job results. There are paid jobs elsewhere but fewer of them and they will require more research. Get to know your own local employers and how they recruit.
