Charity Induction Course

Working For A Charity is running a 2-day Charity Induction Course in Autumn 2008.

For people newly appointed to positions of responsibility in the voluntary sector, as paid staff or trustees, this fast-track short course will provide an opportunity to find out more about the key issues voluntary organisations face.

Programme content

The next course will be held at NCVO - Regent's Wharf, 8 All Saints Street, N1 9RL, on Wednesday 12 November and Thursday 13 November 2008. An outline of the programme is shown below.

Day 1 Wednesday 12 November 2008

Morning

  • Voluntary sector issues, culture and ethos
  • Trainer: Sarah Buxton, Director of Finance, RHS

Afternoon

  • Recruitment, development and support of volunteers
  • Trainer: Moyra Weston, Consultant, Weston Coaching and Consultancy

Day 2 Thursday 13 November 2008

Morning

  • Fundraising and income generation
  • Trainer: Rachel Billsberry- Grass, Fundraising consultant

Afternoon

  • Effective governance
  • Trainer: Anne Moynihan, Head of Governance and Leadership Team, NCVO

Hours: 10.00am - 4.30pm with 45mins for lunch
